Enhance Your Training Regimen with 4 Muscle Building Secrets
If you are interested in increasing your muscle, you truly won’t find any muscle building secrets, although you can add some elements to your current routine. Most people want to build up their muscle when they work out, the following are a few tips I have learned over the years that help me gain muscle when I need to.
Muscle Building Secret 1. Wear out Your Muscles by Performing High Repetitions and High Volume
Although many guys appear to be practicing this trick, I have observed many of them performing it improperly. When gaining muscle fast is your goal, low rep lifting is not the best technique. Building strength and density are the targeted goals of low rep lifting. Sure doing high weight low rep training can be helpful when you want to gain muscle, but only when it is incorporated into a workout where you are already doing high rep and high volume training. Your goal needs to be 6 – 15 reps in each set to gain muscle in a timely manner.
Muscle Building Secret 2: Don’t Take Extended Breaks Between Sets
When building muscle the goal is to fatigue the muscle in the 6-15 rep range. Extended breaks between sets allows you to lift heavier weight, but the rest keeps your muscles from feeling adequately fatigued. If you are performing your muscle building training correctly, each successive set that you perform, should seem heavier than the one before. The real aim is to feel weak at the end of a set, this is how you know you are heading in the right direction.
Muscle Building Secret #3: Don’t Rest In Between Reps
You probably notice the common theme about building fatigue. Rests between reps mean muscles that are less fatigued. If your goal was to build strength, then breaks in between reps would help you increase weight, which builds strength, but for gaining muscle, this is not productive.
Muscle Building Secret #4: Building Muscle is More About Training Than Diet
Several studies have shown examples of people gaining muscle while eating a deficit in calories. Building muscle can be accomplished through overeating. The idea diet should be one designed to lower body fat, even when you are weight training. You can ensure that your muscles have what they need to grow, by concentrating your training on optimal fatigue and high volume. You will be providing the motivation that your muscles need to grow. This is not to say you should be unhealthy and go on a serious diet, you need to eat the right amount of nutrients for normal bodily functions, but do not eat too much.
You can benefit from following these useful suggestions when attempting to gain muscle, although they are not exactly considered muscle building secrets.
